This TEDxSalon event centers on Frances Frei’s TED Talk, "How to build (and rebuild) trust," exploring how trust is formed and how it can be rebuilt once broken. In her talk, Frei identifies three key pillars of trust: Authenticity, Logic, and Empathy. When any of these elements are compromised, trust becomes unstable. By watching this talk, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how these pillars influence personal relationships and team dynamics.
The event will continue with small group discussions, encouraging participants to share personal experiences and reflect on their strengths and challenges in building trust. Following this, we will introduce a series of immersive scenarios—such as a "Trust Maze" or "Mystery Box"—designed to place participants in unfamiliar or slightly tense environments where they must rely on one another. These hands-on experiences aim to help participants practice balancing authenticity, logic, and empathy in real time, promoting more effective communication and collaboration.
Through this event, we hope participants walk away with several key takeaways:
A clear understanding of the three pillars of trust and how to apply them in daily life.
A firsthand experience of building and rebuilding trust through experiential scenarios.
Personal insights into their own habits and mindset around trust, and how to become a trust-building force within a team.
Ultimately, we aim for these ideas to spark meaningful change—empowering participants to apply what they've learned in everyday situations and work environments, and to foster stronger, more resilient relationships and teamwork.
